Speedy

I bought Speedy in the fall of 1995. Sadly, due to my inexperience with anoles, and a lack of proper equipment *fish bulbs do NOT work for lizards*, Speedy died only a few months after Mellow, in the summer of 1997.

Speedy was probably about two to three years old. He was not really aggressive. In fact, I'm not sure what gender Speedy was. He might have been a girl; however, I just call Speedy a male out of sheer laziness. Speedy, really, was an average anole. Not quite afraid of me, but didn't like to be held; not aggressive, but not as passive as Mellow *or Cammy, for that matter*. Speedy ran away during the spring of 1996. For a while, all I had was Mellow. Later, during July of that year, my parents were cleaning out the garage, they noticed a very frightened lizard in the garage. My dad managed to corner Speedy and put him in the plastic box I had used to get him in the first place. So, when I came home, I found a wonderful present on my bed. He escaped again that night, but I found him the next day *he was nearly crushed under my bedpost*.

I'm sorry I didn't treat you better, Speedy. At least you helped me learn from my mistakes. Goodbye.
